WRAPPED IN RED by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

WRAPPED IN RED

When I finished painting this, I was trying to think of something different to do to it.  I finally decided to wrap it in red.

GOLDEN PEAR by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

GOLDEN PEAR

This painting was created with a brush and palette knife.  Before eating the pear, I began looking closely and studying the different colors  that I saw. I decided to paint it! The various earth tone colors that I used, helped to give the painting depth.  I also added a dark shadow that made one side of the pear almost disappear.  It's funny how when you look closely at an object, you can see many different colors.  Try it sometime and you will see what I mean.

SOUTHERN FAVORITE by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

SOUTHERN FAVORITE

I think most people like Hydrangea blooms; myself included.  There are so many different varieties that offer a lot of different colors.  One of my bushes, has beautiful deep burgundy and blue blooms.  This is where I got my inspiration for this painting.

LOOKING GLASS by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

LOOKING GLASS

This floral painting began and ended as usual.  After studying it for days, I decided to add something different.  I used permanent marker and made lines to look like stained glass.  Not sure if I succeeded.  I would welcome your comments, good or bad.

SUNFLOWER FIELDS FOREVER by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

SUNFLOWER FIELDS FOREVER

Have you ever seen a field of sunflowers?  There is a field in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains that is just beautiful.  The sunny heads of these flowers seem to stand in attention, while others bow with grace.  When you look far in the distance, it is like a sea of yellow.  A sight like this, is inspiration to any artist.

SEPTEMBER PICKS by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

SEPTEMBER PICKS

The blooms on my "Joesph's Coat" roses are few in these dog days of summer.  I decided to put them in my bouquet on canvas.  Apples were added in anticipation of the hand picked fruit from north Georgia in just a matter of weeks.  Can't wait!
