BLUE PETALS by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

BLUE PETALS

This palette knife painting is an 8x8 on wrapped canvas.  My palette for the hydrangea flowers has blues, pinks, and greens.  Several of my own bushes have these colors in the blooms.  The hydrangea is one of favorite flowers and is always a source of inspiration for my paintings.

DAY ENDING by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

DAY ENDING

This palette knife painting was inspired by a photo that I took a few years ago.  The sun setting over the marsh was beautiful.

FREEDOM by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

You know, the thing I like about art is that you can make it your own.  An artist has the prerogative to do anything he or she wants.  Any colors, medium, objects, and more can be used however and artist sees fit.  It is this freedom that I love as an artist.  This is exactly why I call this painting freedom.  Realistic flowers don't look like mine, but that's ok mine are just an artistic rendition.

COUNTRY ROAD by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

COUNTRY ROAD

While riding down a country road this summer, I was admiring all of the wildflowers in bloom.  This was the inspiration for this painting.  My trusty palette knife was used to compose this painting.

HAPPY by Charlsie Sprewell cfspre@bellsouth.net

HAPPY

I call this painting "HAPPY" because I had so much fun with it.  I wanted somewhat of a monochromatic palette that would be soothing to the eye.  Hope you like it!
